First settled in 1829, Paris, Ontario has charm and beauty enough to earn the nickname “the prettiest little town in Canada.” Whether it’s the rich green natural surroundings or its heartwarming community, it has become a highly sought-after new home destination. Located just west of Brantford and 40 km from Hamilton, the community is situated right off Hwy 403 on the Grand River and the Nith River alongside plenty of picturesque outdoor trails.
The last year has given us a chance to reflect on how staying active and appreciating the outdoors can enrich our daily lives. Whether you have embraced new hobbies such as cycling, running, hiking, or just enjoying a nice stroll outdoors, Paris has many new adventures waiting for you.
Rest Acres Road is enjoying a big upgrade with 3-metre-wide multi-use trails for walking, running and biking now being installed on each side. These enhancements will make it easy to access Lion’s Park and splash pad, the Grand River, Penmans Dam Park, and the Nith River Trails, as well as downtown Paris. Nearby, King Edward Street, which changes to Dundas Street East along the bridge above the Grand River, is only seconds from the SC Johnson Trail. From there, you can access Paris Rail Trail Head which winds on north to Cambridge, and east to Brantford, Hamilton and beyond.
With a Downtown Paris Master Plan development in the works, community residents can soon experience a more inclusive downtown outdoor core, all while protecting its unique heritage. This project is set to begin in 2022.
The Downtown Paris Master Plan, the Rest Acres Road Development and the expansion of the Brant Sports Complex, just West of Scenic Ridge East, are all nearby future developments that are expected to be constructed beside our Scenic Ridge East new home community!
Here are just a few must-try outdoor activities in Paris:
- Canoeing, kayaking and fly fishing on the Grand River
- Gravel biking on the nearby tails
- Exploring Lions Park and witnessing the spectacular views of the Nith River
- Trying fantastic local food in downtown Paris
