About the Neighbourhood

01

Voted number one on Maclean’s list of Canada’s Top 25 Communities for 2019, the City of Burlington offers a little bit of everything. The city sits comfortably at the midway point between Toronto and the Hamilton-Niagara Region, leaving residents with a long list of ways to enjoy their time.

As a lakefront community, Burlington is known for its variety of waterfront attractions and events that take place throughout the year, all with a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. The Burlington waterfront offers a beautiful escape near the city where you can enjoy a peaceful stroll by the lake. The city is also home to 115 parks offering tons of greenspace to be used and enjoyed.

The arts and culture scene in Burlington has been steadily on the rise in recent years, thanks in part to the Arts and Culture Council of Burlington (ACCOB) — created to increase public understanding, knowledge and appreciation of arts and culture in Burlington and surrounding areas.

Plazas and shopping centres throughout the city make shopping easy with a variety of grocery stores and popular retailers, and the Burlington Downtown core features a number of local restaurants, bakeries, boutiques and other unique small businesses. Thanks to its proximity to highways 407, 403, and Queen Elizabeth Way, residents have the option of working in Burlington itself or commuting to work in Toronto, Hamilton, Niagara, Milton, Guelph and more. An easy 40-minute drive or relaxing trip on GO Transit will land you in Toronto or Niagara.

If you’re looking for the ideal waterfront destination with easy access to the rest of the GTA, look no further than Burlington.
